+ I had been wondering what all the hype was about—until we arrived. We’ve stayed at many Ritz-Carlton properties, including Singapore and Koh Samui, but Phulay Bay is in a league of its own when it comes to service and the overall guest experience. The architecture immediately reminded me of The Barai in Hua Hin. Later, our butler, Khun Sun, explained that both properties were designed by the same architect, which made perfect sense. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Khun Tanya, Khun Bon, Khun Sunny, and our butler, Khun Sun. Their genuine hospitality set the tone for the rest of our stay. The grounds are simply stunning, with a small creek, waterfalls, lush gardens, mature trees, abundant birdlife, and a beautiful beachfront. Many reviews mention that the sea isn’t suitable for swimming, but I have to disagree. As long as you wear a pair of beach shoes, it’s absolutely enjoyable. We visited Koh Hong twice during our stay. Although it can get quite crowded during peak hours, we still spotted schools of squid, a sea snake, a tiny red sea fan, sea anemone, and plenty of giant clams—an unforgettable experience. One highlight was being invited to the management cocktail party. I truly appreciated the opportunity, as it showed that guest feedback is genuinely valued. It was a pleasure meeting Khun Ian and many other members of the team. We already miss Phulay Bay and can’t wait to return.

Having stayed at five-star hotels around the world (Peninsula, Mandarin Oriental, Four Seasons, etc), our expectations are high—but Phulay Bay exceeded them in every way. The property is stunning, but what truly sets it apart is its people. The level of genuine hospitality, warmth, and attention to detail was unlike anything we've experienced. From the moment we arrived, the team took the time to get to know us—not just our names, but our interests, preferences, and what would make our stay special. Every interaction felt personal and authentic. Rather than simply providing exceptional service, they anticipated our needs before we even had to ask, making us feel genuinely cared for throughout our stay. A special thank you to Maya who first hand ensured we had an absolutely wonderful stay. She was beyond helpful and one of the kindest, nicest people we met in Thailand. Eak, Nat and Jeff -- and all of the staff -- played an important role in making our visit so memorable at meals and at the spa. The staff's kindness, professionalism, and sincere desire to create an unforgettable experience were evident every day. They treated us like honored guests rather than customers, and their thoughtfulness left a lasting impression on our entire family. The entire concierge team ensured we had wonderful excursions planned before we arrived --- their communication and execution were top notch! This was our first trip to Thailand, and the team at Phulay Bay made it one of the best family vacations we have ever taken. Their warmth and hospitality gave us a genuine appreciation for the renowned kindness of the Thai people and created memories we will cherish for years to come. Best family trip to date!

+ Probably our favorite family trip to date! Our villa was beautiful with daily personal touches left in the evenings. The breakfast options were wide and onsite Thai restaurant was fabulous! Cocktails at the Sunset Bar watching the sun disappear on the horizon was a treat. Our assigned butler, Na, was incredibly helpful and readily available. She seamlessly coordinated all of our excursions with options, clear instructions and matched us with professional drivers and guides. If not for the fact that it takes over 24 hrs. to travel back to Thailand - we would go back next year!

Every meal showcased fresh, beautifully prepared ingredients, paired with impeccable presentation and stunning ocean views. + This was, without a doubt, the best family hotel experience we have ever had. Our villa was absolutely breathtaking, and the entire property was stunning and impeccably maintained. What truly made our stay exceptional, however, was the incredible staff. They exceeded every expectation we had. Our butler, Habib, was outstanding and made us feel like royalty from the moment we arrived. He anticipated our needs, paid incredible attention to every detail, and ensured that every aspect of our stay was seamless. From arranging our reservations and excursions to adding thoughtful personal touches throughout our vacation, his level of care and professionalism did not go unnoticed. We booked a spa treatment during our stay, and it was one of the best spa experiences we’ve ever had truly relaxing and beautifully delivered. For dinner, we dined at Lae Lay restaurant, where Chef Chris Jirawat and all staff who prepared an incredible special six-course menu for us. Every dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. It was the perfect birthday celebration. and thank you all staff at restaurant who take care of us that night. We would also like to thank all the staff who surprised us with birthday cakes throughout our stay. We received three beautiful cakes, and every surprise made us feel so loved and celebrated.
