Novotel Phuket Kata Avista Resort and Spa

− 2-10-26 to 13-10-26: Disappointing stay – ocean view rooms ruined by construction noise We booked and paid extra for ocean view rooms at Novotel Phuket Kata Avista, expecting to enjoy a relaxing holiday overlooking Kata Beach. Unfortunately, directly across the road, between our balcony and the beach view, there is ongoing construction that has completely impacted our stay. The noise has been unbearable, with jackhammering from 9 am until as late as 10 pm and concrete pouring continuing until 9 pm. This has made it impossible to relax or enjoy the balcony we specifically paid extra for. We are also travelling with a young child who has been woken by the construction noise, making it incredibly difficult for our family to rest and enjoy our holiday. When we raised our concerns with the hotel and asked whether some form of compensation could be offered, we were offered a late checkout, despite the fact that we were leaving at 7 am the following morning. This offer was completely useless to us. We were then told the hotel would not cover our small room service bill but would offer to pay for one dinner. This response was extremely disappointing. We work hard all year to afford a family holiday, and to spend that money on an ocean view room that we cannot properly enjoy because of excessive construction noise is incredibly frustrating. We understand that construction may be outside the hotel’s control, but guests should be made aware of significant nearby construction before booking, particularly when paying a premium for an ocean view room. The issue is not simply the construction itself, but the lack of meaningful compensation and the failure to acknowledge the impact this has had on our holiday. Based on our experience, we would not recommend staying here while this construction is ongoing. Guests deserve to know what they are paying for and should not have to spend their holiday listening to jackhammers from morning until late at night.

− The constant wet floors from the aircon. The noise travelling from rooms above to our room. Aircon HAVING to be set so cold that it wasn’t bearable. Photos online looked appealing, but was not what you get when you arrive.

Correct pour la chambre et la situation, mais prévoyez d'autres activités et faites très attention à l'eau

+ Chambre spacieuse et confortable. Le petit déjeuner et la restauration sont corrects. L'hôtel est bien situé, à quelques minutes à pied de la plage de Kata Beach, avec de nombreuses activités, restaurants et commerces à proximité. Un bon choix pour profiter de la région.

− Peu d'activités et peu d'espace à l'intérieur de l'hôtel, on s'ennuie assez vite. Le trajet à pied jusqu'à Kata Beach comporte une très forte pente, avec presque aucun trottoir. Attention à l'eau du robinet et aux glaçons dans les boissons, même pour se brosser les dents : toute notre famille a été malade. L'hôtel est un peu vieillissant, notamment autour de la piscine pour enfants et des jeux d'eau.

+ Beautiful property. The room was great. My girls loved the pools. The staff were exceptional and went above and beyond to help celebrate my daughter’s birthday.
