Hotel Presidente

Great hotel! Clean, friendly and excellent location!

+ Hotel Presidente was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious and the location was perfect to explore downtown San Jose. I throughly enjoyed my visit. We appreciated the hospitality of the staff and front desk attendants after our late arrival. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to future travelers.

+ Fantastic place. It would be easy to miss from the street except for the rolling gate, but once you come inside it's wonderful. Staff is super helpful everywhere, the lobby is cute, the rooftop restaurant is nice and really reasonably priced (about the same as area restaurants, not the usual hotel markup), and the area is fine to walk around in (with tons of restaurant options). Easy walks to the museums (Jade and Gold), markets, etc. Oh, and breakfast is nice too with lots of options. It's a buffet but at restaurant quality other than fetching your own food.

Central Location

+ A great modern hotel in a central location. Main attractions are all within walking distance of the hotel with a selection of local restaurants and cafes around. The room was large, spacious and airy, the bed was so comfortable with high quality bedding. Dining in the restaurant on the roof terrace was also a pleasant experience with fantastic food and attentive staff. Breakfast was substantial without being over the top. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Hotel experience and customer service

+ Ariana and Stephanie were amazing young ladies! They both made sure that the check in and check out process ran smoothly. Not only did they give the information about activities in the area, they took the time to give some great suggestions. The hotel itself was stunning! They had great food, employees were helpful, the rooms etc... was clean and was located in a great location. I could go on and on about this hotel, but I would definitely stay again!

Stay here!!!

+ We chose Hotel Presidente for its central location in the heart of downtown San José. It is situated within a few minutes walking distance of the three world-class museums (Jade Museum, Gold Museum and National Museum of Costa Rica), and the National Theater. We could not have been happier with our stay! We booked directly with the hotel and had breakfast and complimentary parking included in our package. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, with many tasty cold and hot choices. We stayed in the “El Caballero Elegante” suite, which was very spacious, well appointed, sparkling clean and a great value. We also enjoyed dinner at the in-house restaurant Azotea Calle7 for both nights of our stay. All the staff were exceptionally welcoming and kind, and made sure our stay left nothing to be desired. We highly recommend the Hotel Presidente for your stay in San José!

Disappointed

+ Rooms are clean but small and the air conditioning was inefficient. We were too warm during the night. Front desk employees were efficient but not super friendly. Next time I will choose a different hotel for the price. There is also a fair amount of street noise early in the morning.
