A magical place to see the Northern Lights

+ The Igloos are very cosy and kept nice and warm in the winter by heaters. They make it really easy to see the sky and we were very lucky to be there on a clear night, getting to see the Northern Lights twice over the course of the night. It was magical waking up at 3am to see them overhead. I liked the little guest house that was cosy, had plenty of space for toilets and showers, and was stocked with plenty of tea, and had a coffee/hot chocolate machine that you had free access to. Key collection is just by picking up a named envelope in the guest house, so it was pretty easy.

− It can get pretty busy in the guest house if lots of people are staying. So can be beneficial to pay more for the Igloos that have their own private attached bathroom.

The coziest of vibes and an unforgettable experience

+ Simply wow. I will absolutely stay here again. Unfortunately, we stayed here during a wind/rain storm so the Northern Lights were out of the question. But, even with no chance of that, this was a highlight of our trip. These little domes are well insulated, warm, and private. It was cozy and welcoming and honestly the perfect place to wait out a storm. If you're questioning if this experience it worth it, I promise you it is!

− The drain in our private shower needed some maintenance. We had to take very fast showers so that the shower pan wouldn't overflow. Hopefully an easy fix for the property.

+ Fantastic stay! Highly recommended. We ended up staying at the Aurora Igloo South (Hella) for two nights instead of the single night we originally planned because it was so fantastic! The entire experience was excellent. The views were absolutely incredible, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the overall amenities were really nice. We stayed in a private unit, which features its own full en-suite bathroom, closet space, and food prep area. If you book the regular domes, please note they are just a bedroom, and you will use the shared facilities in a nearby building. However, those shared spaces are very well-appointed, clean, and offer great perks like free coffee and milk drinks, laundry access, and comfortable sitting areas. We would definitely stay here again and are already planning to do so on our next return trip to Iceland!

− The heat pump was very noisy when heating. It was chilly when we got there, so we thought we would like to turn on the heat. But the noise made us turn it right off again. However it really was a not an issue, because the dome warmed up very quickly without the furnace! We were very comfortable! But that heat pump really was noisy.

+ What an experience!! We stayed here 1 night and we were blessed to see the northern lights. Even without that it was a great stay. The heated beds were comfy and made the stay so cozy.

+ Super tolle Erfahrung unter freiem Himmel zu schlafen! Mein persönliches Highlight waren die beheizten Betten nach einem regnerischen Tag kann man sich richtig gut aufwärmen!!!
